Alex Shelley, D.V.M.
Alex graduated Magna Cum Laude from Auburn University in 2003. Prior to opening Elk Creek Animal Hospital, he practiced at Towne Square Animal Hospital in Owensboro, Ky. In September of 2004, he opened Elk Creek Animal Hospital in Spencer County, Ky. Dr. Shelley and his wife, Jessica, both grew up in Spencer County and are proud to call it their home.
Dr. Shelley is on the Advisory Board of LifeBridge for Animals and the Spencer County Board of Health. He is also a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Kentucky Veterinary Medical Association. His special interests include Internal Medicine and Orthopedic Surgery.
Dr. Shelley and Jessica, reside in Spencer county with their three children, Jackson, Gabe and Seth and their Yellow Lab, Woodrow.
Dr. Shelley enjoys playing guitar, singing, farming, golfing and spending time with family and friends.

Brad Bennett, D.V.M.
Dr. Brad Bennett grew up on a family farm outside Taylorsville. Time away at college created a strong bond and appreciation for small town life and his community and he is thrilled to be back in his hometown.
He has a lovely wife, Katie, and they are the proud “parents” of 3 cats, Socrates, Slick, and Achilles.
Dr. Bennett received his Bachelor Degree from Murray State University in 2001. He then attended Auburn University’s College of Veterinary Medicine and graduated in 2006. He began his career that same year at Elk Creek Animal Hospital. Dr. Bennett is a member of the Advisory Board for Lifebridge for Animals, a member of the Kentucky Veterinary Medical Association and the American Veterinary Medical Assocation.

Allison Stofferahn, D.V.M.
Dr. Stofferahn was born in Minnesota, but moved to Louisville as a child. She received her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Louisville in 2001. She graduated from Auburn University’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 2005, then returned to Kentucky.
Dr. Stofferahn has been with Elk Creek Animal Hospital since 2007. In addition to practicing Veterinary Medicine, she enjoys spending time with her 2 dogs, Lucy and Gordon, and 5 cats, Chili, Coolio, Fat Ming, Mr. Bitters, and Spider. She also enjoys the gym, reading, music and riding horses.

Jessica Shelley
Jessica graduated from the University of Kentucky in 1999 with a degree in Health Care Administration. She managed Assisted Living facilities from 1999 until 2003, when she and Alex returned to Kentucky. She, then, assisted her husband in opening Elk Creek Animal Hospital and has worked as the practice manager since 2004. Jessica enjoys spending time with her family and friends, shopping, gardening and collecting antiques.

Michelle Ingram
Michelle has been a vet tech at Elk Creek Animal Hospital for 7 years. She has a 18 year- old daughter, Becki, and two dogs, Babbi Boy and Suki. When she is not busy caring for pets, she enjoys spending time with friends and family watching college football (Go Gators!!) and watching a good movie. Michelle says that God has truly blessed her, not only at home, but here at Elk Creek Animal Hospital as well.

Mary Ann Brown
Mary Ann has worked at Elk Creek Animal Hospital for 5 years as a receptionist. She has 4 children, Jessica, who is married to Dr. Shelley, Daniel, Brandon and Steven. She also has 6 beautiful grandchildren. Her hobbies include barrel racing, gardening, painting and collecting antiques.
